Speakers & Workshop Leaders for BoS USA 2018
BoS USA Speakers
Ayat Shukairy and David Cancel have joined our band of speakers for BoS Conference USA 2018.
Ayat Shukairy started her career as an educator & copywriter before co-founding Invesp to help customers convert web traffic into action. In 2016, she launched FigPii, a SaaS product to help companies improve their CRO. Ayat will be talking about 'Why "Customer First" Fails - And What To Do About It'.
David Cancel will possibly be a familiar name to you - former CPO at HubSpot, he's now the CEO and Co-Founder of Drift, the conversational marketing platform that you've definitely seen on a bunch of websites you visit (and possibly your own). David spoke at BoS USA few years ago about Building a Customer Driven Product Team - a philosophy that Drift live by.
David and Ayat join a fantastic group of speakers including Mikey Trafton, Bob Moesta, Bethany Pagels-Minor and Peldi Guilizzoni. Click below to find out more about all the speakers for BoS USA 2018.
Behold! 4 workshop leaders. Workshops at BoS USA happen after lunch on the final day of the conference. They're designed to be interactive, informal, and fun - a way of taking stock after the barrage of new ideas you've had and planning some practical steps to take in your business.
The Workshops come at an extra cost - currently they're just an extra $100 (madness considering how much you'd normally pay for a workshop with some of these people), but that will be going up by $200 this weekend. Save your space and some money by booking this week.
This year we've got some old favourites returning to lead workshops:
Bob Moesta, Mr Jobs-To-Be-Done, will lead a practical Switch Workshop to help you discover why customers switch to or from your product, in addition to his main conference session. Space is limited because Bob makes this Workshop incredibly practical. It's no lecture - Bob will spend time with each participant to help them understand the blocks to customers using your software.
Bruce McCarthy will be returning to BoS off the back of his awesome talk at BoS Europe a few months ago (look out for that video coming soon) to lead a workshop about setting a product roadmap that is focused on results, not features.
Dave Collins will ruthlessly dissect your website, showing you where you're losing your customers online and what you can do to improve your website, and therefore your sales. Perhaps not pleasant in the moment, but you'll be thankful afterwards.
- In a highly interactive session, Sean McGuire will lead you through the process of modelling a user journey, and teach you how to design a better outcome for your users through the process of Design Origami.
We'll be announcing more Workshop Leaders in the run up to the conference, but I hope this whets your appetite.

New Video: Making Use of Big Data
Last week I sat down with Vince to discuss how to use data to drive business growth, and how it can help product teams to produce better results. If you work with data, Vince’s pedigree as the previous Chief Data Scientist at King Games (makers of destroyer-of-time, Candy Crush Saga) should encourage you that this is a discussion worth listening to!
Watch The Hangout Replay
Catch a discussion about how Deliveroo runs A/B testing, the best experiments Vince ran at King Games, and why creativity will never be replaced.
New Ways Of Working - Hangout with Ryan Singer
Save My Place
Jason Fried (CEO, Basecamp) gave a fascinating talk at BoS Conference 2016 about how the people at Basecamp work. As well as making Basecamp, their project management solution, the team at Basecamp are committed to changing the way people work, to help alleviate troublesome work environments and to considering the role software plays in ongoing employee and team interactions.
We're delighted to have Ryan Singer, Product Strategy at Basecamp, join us for a Hangout, 19th July at 12.00 ET to discuss new ways of working and why Basecamp have moved away from such time-wasting activities as the daily stand up.
Join us next Thursday at 12.00 ET for this Hangout with Ryan Singer. If you register, we'll send you a replay even if you can't join us live.
