Announcing 4 New Speakers For BoS Europe 2019!

Image

Another 4 brilliant speakers are going to be joining us in Cambridge this April for BoS Europe 2019. Mat, Sarah, Claire, and Gareth are all full of wisdom and excited to share their experiences and knowledge with you. They're going to be tackling some important topics around building badass teams while scaling your business - read on below to discover what they'll be sharing in Cambridge this April.

1 // Bootstrapping To 15 Million Users - Mat Clayton

Mat Clayton bootstrapped Mixcloud for 10 years with a team of 5 people to build an audio streaming business with 15 million monthly active users. 10 years in, he took $11.5 million funding from a little-known investor. Mat will share some of the things that helped him build such an effective bootstrapped operation, and how Mixcloud knew it was the right time to find an investor.

You'll learn: how to get the most from your small teams, how to use data to inform product development decisions, what to consider when seeking investment.

2 // Making Culture & Data Work For You - Sarah McVittie

Sarah McVittie founded Dressipi as a B2C business, but discovered that the data they collected on customers had a much higher value to retailers. Pivoting to a B2B play helped them focus their value proposition - to make the clothing industry more efficient and save money for retailers.

You'll learn: how to stimulate creative, data-driven approaches to problem solving, how to harness culture to grow your business.

3 // The Feedback Loop: How To Create A Culture Of Feedback - Claire Lew

Claire Lew is the CEO of Know Your Team, a software tool that helps thousands of managers across 25 countries to be better leaders. Over years of research across hundreds of companies, Claire has learned how the most effective managers create a culture of feedback within their teams - and she'll share how she used customer feedback to identify a larger market for her product to serve.

You'll learn: how to give, receiving, ask for, and act on feedback effectively, and create a culture of feedback in your team.

4 // Why You Should Care About Cultivating Trust - Gareth Marlow

Do you trust your team? Do your team trust you? You only have to work with one person who you don't trust to know the importance of trust in the workplace. Teams that don't trust each other don't work well together. Morale, productivity, staff turnover, and outputs all suffer. Executive Coach Gareth Marlow will help you appreciate how trust issues may be limiting your companies growth and the role you might be playing in destroying trust.

You'll learn: practical tips for building a culture of trust across your team, peers, investors, and company.

These new speakers join Derek Sivers (CD Baby), Paul Kenny (OceanLearning), and Elpie Bannister & Alex Yang (Simprints) on our BoS Europe roster of speakers. Learn more about all the speakers below, and don't forget to register before the end of the month to get the Early Bird price.

Announcing A New Speaker for BoS USA 2019!

Image

We're delighted that Matt Wensing, Founder of Riskpulse, will be returning to speak at BoS USA 2019! Matt gave a fantastic lightning talk last year about lessons learning from simulating SaaS business growth. This year he's back to expand on the subject.

Simulation: From Snow & Storms To SaaS Success - Matt Wensing

When Matt founded Riskpulse, his startup that predicts weather-based exceptions for transportation & logistics teams at F1000 manufacturers, he tested everything - selling ads, freemium, inside sales, enterprise sales, bootstrapping, and then later taking funding. Over time, he realized that predicting the weather and the growth of early-stage companies were not that dissimilar.

You'll learn: how startups can test the underlying physics of their business model, how simulation could lead to innovation in early-stage startup financing.

Matt joins Alexander Osterwalder (Inventor of the Business Model Canvas & Value Proposition Canvas) on our list of speakers for BoS USA 2019, with more to be announced in the coming weeks. Don't forget to book your ticket before the end of the month to get the early bird rate!

New Video: Q&A with Rahul Vohra (CEO/Founder, Superhuman)

The Product-Market Fit Engine | Hangout with Rahul Vohra | 9 January 2019

We had a fantastic Q&A session with Rahul Vohra of Superhuman last week. Rahul gave a fantastic talk at BoS USA 2018 about how Superhuman built a method of optimizing for product-market fit. Rahul's method has been widely discussed in the startup world, and with so many people wanting to implement it we jumped at the chance to chat with Rahul. We were joined on the Q&A by an audience at our office in The Bradfield Centre, who asked some great questions.
